PROJECTS

Asia-Pacific Regional Integration

#

SGIC will track the negotiation progress and implementation effectiveness of regional trade agreements such as RCEP and CPTPP, analyzing their impact on the reshaping of regional value chains, industrial relocation, and investment landscape. We will also study the regional cooperation mechanisms in emerging areas such as the digital economy and trade in services, as well as the driving role of infrastructure interconnectivity in the regional integration process. At the same time, we will pay attention to how geopolitical factors constrain regional cooperation, and provide targeted policy recommendations to promote economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region.

Core research areas:

01.

Evaluation of the implementation effects of agreements like RCEP and CPTPP, assessing the effectiveness of regional trade agreements.

02.

Analysis of how geopolitical factors constrain regional cooperation, exploring the constraints of geopolitical risks on regional cooperation.

03.

Trends in regional economic integration, analyzing the process and driving forces of Asia-Pacific economic integration.

04.

The driving role of infrastructure interconnectivity in integration, studying the impact of infrastructure development on facilitating regional integration.
